Annual Show: It's that time of year again! Our 33rd Annual Show will be held April 27th at the Pendleton High School Gymnasium. It's a relaxed event that gives your gymnasts a chance to show off a bit. We've split the classes up into two separate shows for convenience. Admission is $3 with all profits going to Relay for Life. See our show page for more information, and to see which show your child is in.
Spring Session: The schedule for our 5 week Spring session has been posted. It will start the week of April 29. The schedule is similar to the current Winter schedule, but you will have to sign up again to continue. This is a great chance for your little one to stay active as the school year ends, or for them to test out the sport with lower commitment. More information can be found on our schedule page.
Region 8 Championships: April 19-21, Upstate sent 4 gymnasts to compete for South Carolina in the Region 8 Championships. Gillian, a level 7, got season best scores on vault, beam, and all around. Emily, level 7, earned her highest score of the season on vault, and placed 5th. Erin, level 8, got season bests on three events and all around, placing 5th on floor. Abby, level 8, finished her season just as strong as it started, placing 5th on bars. The hard work these ladies have put into their routines this season is incredible. We are so proud of all they've done! Way to go! Results can be found on our team page.
Summer Session: Our summer session schedule has been posted. This year, we're splitting up the summer into two 4-week sessions. You can choose to register for both, or pick one of the two. This allows a little more flexibility in your summer plans. We're also expanding our beginner classes to two hours per week. Some classes meet once a week for two hours, and others meet twice a week for an hour at a time. Lots of options this summer, so look at our schedule page for more information, including dates and pricing details.
Level 3-4 State Meet: April 6-7, Upstate's gymnasts in Levels 3 & 4 traveled to Rock Hill to compete in their State Championships. Upstate earned 16 event medals (top three), and had 5 gymnasts place in the top three for all around! Great work this year, ladies! We are so proud of you! Results for Upstate's gymnasts can be found on our team page.
Level 5-10 State Meet: March 22-24, Upstate's gymnasts in Levels 5-10 traveled to Rock Hill to compete in their State Championships. They all did a great job! Upstate won 18 event medals (top three), and had 6 gymnasts finish in the top three for all around! We are so proud of your accomplishments and hard work this season! Results for Upstate's gymnasts can be found on our team page.
Relay for Life: Over the past 11 years, Upstate has raised around $75,000 for the American Cancer Society in coordination with Relay for Life. We're at it again this year, too! Proceeds from our Annual Show will go towards the cause, and be on the lookout for our team gymnasts as they fill canisters with change. If you would like to support our Relay team this year, you may do so online at our Upstate Team Relay Page, or in person at the gym.
Courtney Kupets Pink Invitational: March 8-10, in the last meet of the season before State, Upstate traveled to the Savannah, GA for the Courtney Kupets Invitational. It was a nice way to wrap up and get ready for our upcoming State meets! Results for Upstate's gymnasts can be found on our team page.
